12 oz can. Picked up a six pack just as the first snow of the year was falling. Perfect timing to bring this brew out of rating hiatus. Clean golden pour. Patchy head. Crisp taste up front. Toast like malt character, with winter piney hops. Cool flavor, and tastes a little stronger than it is. This batch listed at 6.5%. Flavorful IPA.

Purchased as part of a sampler pack.

This beer pours from 12oz bottle a clear deep amber with a 1 finger head of foam that shrinks to some spotting and a ring around the glass.

The smell has notes of caramel malt and a bit of spice.

The taste has a good caramel malt flavour up front followed by a bit of spice and some citrus hops and an earthy backbone that kind of throws the flavours out of whack. A few more sips in and that earthy flavour now dominates the flavour; too bad because I think this had potential to be a good winter ale and pretty darned drinkable but as is, I won't look for it again. Pretty messy, imho.

Shared 12 oz. bottle. Pours clear gold with a white head. Aroma of light malts and mild fruitiness. Taste follows nose, with some biscuit and hay. Finish is mildly sweet, mildly bitter. A fairly bland beer overall - was expecting something with more personality given it’s labeled as a winter ale.

From a 12 oz can in Jackson Hole. Pours a clear gold with an off white head. Caramel nose. Flavors of pine and toffee. Bitter finish.

Bottle. A- Barnyard, feces, earthy, floral, malty, latex, caramel, bread. A- Amber color, clear liquid, white head. T- Barnyard, skunky, earthy, caramel, bready. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, earthy finish. O- The off putting aromas and tastes are not what I was expecting from this one. Not much to say other than I couldn’t find much enjoyment here.

Light somewhat green stamp upper left corner of the label \"032014.\" I’m assuming that’s best by date, ok, no worries, here goes.
The appearance is mostly clear amber/red colored body with a one fingered white foamy head that dies within almost a minute. It manages a nice amount of foamy somewhat sticky lacing.
The smell has a mostly soapy caramel nuttiness about it with a cardboard grassy note to it.
The taste is mainly sweet with some caramel kinda crackery malt to it. The aftertaste is super crackery maltiness with a very dry finish.
On the palate, she sits about a light to medium on the body, and comes across mostly sessionable. Carbonation comes across fairly smooth and is decent for the style and for me.
Overall, not much to see here, just an average American Amber/Red Ale that I’m unsure if I’d have again.

Shared at Kerry’s mini tasting. An orange gold pour with no head in a snifter but a thick head of foam in a tulip. The aroma is bready, cream soda like, lemon & honey. The body is medium-full, the flavor is herbal, sweet, smooth, smooth, orange, cream soda, pine, herbal, a bit of soapiness, good stuff. Interesting, like a cream ale not what I’d call a winter seasonal but well received.

12oz botle pours a clear orange with some lacing, white head. Nose is nice, some cracker, some rye, some orange, bread crust, mild soap, some herbs. Flavor is good, sweet malt, honey, orange, pine sap, soap, mild herb, some spruce. Mostly clean, herbal finish. Not bad.

Smooth and crisp malt with a slight hops snap. Clear amber with a small, but lasting foamy head. Hops linger on the palate. Some elements of caramel and gingerbread, although body is not heavy. A bit richer, but not a winter warmer.
