Best before 03/2024. Batch no. 540. From website: SpeciALBierPaket. Piwo srednia piana srednio trwala, za to posmak kawy trwaly i intensywny. Ciemne nie przejrzyste, doskonala palonosc na koniec mozna wyczuc kapke wanilli. Caly profil zdecydowanie zdominowala kawa.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Very black colored brew with an intense dry bitter taste, hints of bitter coffee, pure chocolate and roasted malts. Also an very faint Rauchbier aroma over it.

Bottle at Uba Ja Humal. Medium body, medium carbonation. Med-high bitterness of the roasty malty kind. Lots of roasty pleasantly coffeeish malt, medium cocoa. Rather dry with light sweetness. Pretty good, I now noticed I am actually drinking a true coffee beer. And it works. Well made.

Poured from 330mL bottle (bb 25.09.2022; batch 392). Black with beige head. Roasty, some soy sauce on the nose, touch of chocolate, not bad for a gluten free beer.

Coffee-flavoured Baltic porter from the Baltic region, bottle at Huzaar, thanks Steve! Medium sized, yellowish pale beige, frothy and moderately stable head, very dark chocolate brown robe with coppery hue, turning misty with sediment. Aroma of indeed coffee, amidst old walnuts, blood-like iron (even black pudding), hard caramel, old liquorish, ‘Haagse hopjes’, burnt toast, dried blackcurrants, cigar tobacco. Restrainedly sweet onset, old raisins and burnt currants, very clean and slick with a slight sourish edge, lively carbonated with smooth mouthfeel but feeling thinner than expected for style and strength; hard-caramelly and roasted-walnutty maltiness fills the middle, flanked by a haemoglobin-like ‘ironness’ and eventually topped with the promised coffee, adding roasted bitterness to an already roasty profile, but relatively little coffee aroma. Ends roasted bitter, with a spicy hop bitter edge and some warming, but generally well-hidden alcohol; a vague note of liquorish appears as well. Solid enough example of a style cleverly reinvented by Eastern European craft brewers, but I think I would have appreciated a bit more coffee aroma, perhaps.

33cl bottle from hopt.it, France. Pours black with fine, light brown foam. Aroma is intense of grinded coffee, a little vanilla. Body and carbonation are average. Taste is medium sweet, and strong roasty. Final is fairly long and coffeish.

bottle. gushing bottle when opening. infected? clear dark brown, huge fluffy light brown head. aroma is roasted malts, dusty/spicy/wild yeasty note. flavor is roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, nice bitterness, nice roasted maltiness. While the aroma and the gushing was a disappointment, the flavor is great, dry roasted malty base, with well balanced additions of dark chocolate and coffee notes.
