We could hardly say it more eloquently. Our Limited Edition Aphrodite Ale is ethereal, intriguing and mysterious – as the Goddess Aphrodite must have been. Aphrodite has champagne-like carbonation, much as the foam of the waves of the sea. Plus enchanting flavors with whispers of raspberry and pear, and hints of funk and tartness created by the Brett yeast. The refreshing dryness comes from the unusual combination of Ommegang and Brett yeasts, and incites feelings of love and thirst, though we don't know about lust. Grains of paradise are infused into the nectar, and when poured Aphrodite is crowned with a luxuriously shimmering rose-pink head.

On tap. Pours with a hazy ruby red hued body with a small white head. Aromas are juicy, quite fruity, estery, light orange peel, grand manier, raspberries. Light malic acid and a hint of funk. Flavors are fruity, plums, pears, pluots. Lightly tannic. Estery. Juicy. Some fruit based acid on the back end. Lively bubbles. Dry. Alcohol is quite well hidden.

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a bright red color with a small pink head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was sweetish tart raspberry, bread, coconut and cranberry. The flavor was dry, tart and bitter with notes of cranberry, raspberry and hints of wood and nut. Long, dry, tart berry finish. Medium body. Disappointing.

succeeded on some accounts, failed on others. poured a ruby red with a large pink head, looking very delicious. the taste at first was dark cherries and some brett, after time the taste became increasingly difficult to take, to quote Ralphie from the Simpsons, "it tastes like burning".

Grabbed a bottle at the brewery. Pours a slightly hazy strawberry with nice sized pink fluffy head. Terrific lacing and aromas. Tastes of raspberries, pears, peppercorns, Brett, slight funk, some tartness. The fruit isn’t overpowering and it’s carbonated enough to make it a celebration beer. Had for dessert and felt it was fantastic
