On tap at the brewery. Pours a dark amber. taste is plenty malty and roasty. some fruit such as plumbs and grapfruit. Slightly sweet and sticky.

Bottle from Half Time. Pours dark amber with a red tinge and a 4 finger beige head that’s foamy/clingy. Aroma is mostly roast malt. Medium plus body with foamy carbonation. Flavor is a lot of roast malt with some citrusy hop. It’s very hoppy, but the "reddishness" of the roast malt keeps pace with it. There’s a lot of flavor of malt and hop, and neither really dominates. Quite drinkable, though a bit too malty for me. Or maybe not. It keeps getting "better".

Aroma: The nose has some sweet caramel, a good amount of fruit, hops, and some bread-like characteristics
Appearance: It pours a slightly hazy amber color with a creamy beige head that sheet-laces the glass.
Flavor: The taste is moderately sweet (caramel and some grapefruit) with a hop presence for balance.
Palate: It has a medium-full body, soft carbonation, surprisingly short duration, and a somewhat sticky feel.
Overall Impression: I tend to be a big fan of these hoppy Amber IPA-like beers, and while I think this one is pretty good, it isn't as great as some of the other beers I've had in this style. Anyway, I do like it, it has a pretty good hop presence but remains balanced enough. On the other hand, the finish is so abrupt that it ruins the beer just a bit. I just don't really get why, but for some reason each sip seems to be completely out of my mouth by the time I tilt the glass back to the up-right position. Very odd, and surprising for this style. I like it, but I have to take away some points for that issue.

Mildly hopped reddish ale. Some cereal, citrus and floral in the nose. Good all around beer. Rated 4/12/10

Sixpack at Shaws ($12): Pours a mahogany-amber colour with a beige head that leaves a consistent lacing. Aroma is fruity with earthy hops interspersed in it. You can taste the hops up front. There is an underlying sticky sweetness to it. Some citrus elements. Has a somewhat hoppy aftertaste and finish. Medium-bodied. Overall pretty good... not an IPA, but a good example of the hoppy, i.e. not crappy amber (red) ale similar to Prohibition Ale or Troegs Hopback...

This beer pours dark amber with a medium foamy light beige head that dissipates steadily. Patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops and fruit. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops character with floral and fruity notes, plus some malt in the background. The finish is hoppy with a grapefruit aftertaste. Above average overall.

(Draught) Reddish brown and clear. Small white head. Pine, fruitiness and malts in aroma. Medium bodied palate with medium carbonation. Malts, pine, bitterness, fruitiness, lightly molasses and hint of roastedness in taste. Bitterness and pine in aftertaste.

Bottle at Peculier pub. Poured a dark brown with a decent beige head. Nose is denominated by the sweet, roasted malt aroma; the hops barely break through. In the flavor you can detect a bit more of the hop character, although the backbone of this beer was definitely the malts, which made the beer quite sweet with notes of caramel and creamy toffee. Nicely bodied,very filling and smooth. Pretty darn tasty.

Bottle - thanks beerbaron420. Pours a reddish amber with a finger of beige head. Nose is rich with citrus hops and light florals. Yes! A hop-dominated IPA for sure. Nice amount of citrus and florals up front with some fruity notes and caramel before a lingering floral bitter finish. Nice.

Bottle thanks to thirdeye11. Pours with a hazed brown body and an off-white head. Aroma of pine and citrus hops with a good amount of caramel malt backing. Taste is pine like cascade and nice malty caramel. Light bubbles.
