Bottle. Pours with a clear bronze body and a massive bone hued head. Beautiful lace. Aromas of hops (citrus, pine, herbaceous), oak, caramel, wood, toffee, nectarines, pine, raisins. Smells like a slightly altered, and oaked version of Bigfoot (fine by me). Flavors of bourbon, very rich caramel/toffee, nice bitterness, wood, pine, lots of hops. Creamy bubbles. Very easy to drink for a beer of this size. Lasting clean bitterness with a few wood tannins. Pretty tasty beer! Perfect beer for this weather.

On tap at flying saucer. Pours a clear amber with a small frothy ligbt tan head that lasts awhile leaving good sticky lacing. The aroma is a floral hop and light roast. Thick mouthfeel with a roasty malt upfront and cascade hops in the finish. Alcohol present but still easy to drink. A very impressive American strong ale from Sierra Nevada. Congrats on 30 years!

Served on draft at Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear red color with a medium creamy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of leafy, citrus and resiny hops with some toffee notes. The taste is intense bitter citrus and peppery hop notes with toffee and caramel. Creamy mouthfeel, full bodied.

750 c&c from Rays Liquor in Chico, CA. (cork broke) Pours darkly ruddy with a foamy beige/tan head. Aroma seems citrus/resin mix. Full bodied/creamy carb. There’s some roasted malt flavor. With a lot of hop. Citrus/resin. And there seems to be some Belgian yeast/spice. Maybe that’s just from the overwhelming hoppiness. It’s not a harsh burning bitter, just a lot of hop over very smooth roast malt. Definitely some wood/oak. Seems astringent with time. But there’s underlying sweet, and bitter along the tongue. It’s a really solid tasty treat.

Bottle. Copepr colored beer with a big light tan head. Grapefruit and light pine aroma with light caramel. Caramel and vanilla flavor with grapefruit and light oak. Medium bodied. Caramel and vanilla linger with grapefruit.
