Dominion Millennium is a very strong ale brewed in the English Barley Wine style. Often called the "sherry of the beer world", barley wine is best sipped at warmer temperatures, and should be enjoyed in moderation, as it contains twice the alcohol of regular beers.

Bottle. Amber body with a shorty, frothy, off-white head, mostly diminishing. Malty aroma of caramel, cookie, dough and alcohol. No hop aroma of speak of. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lightluy bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture and moderate carbonation. Very hot finish. Tasty, but fairly simple. Too much alcohol. Nice balance of bitterness to hold the malts in check, even with some age on this bottle.

Bottle. Gold color, not much head or lacing. Pretty much a straightforward caramel color and flavor barleywine.

Sample at the "Beer Tasting on the Front Porch". This brew is a dark orange-amber color with a medium thin and foamy off-white head that diminishes quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of vinous fruits and malt. Medium body with flavors of fruity malt, leather, and oak. The finish is vinous and leaves a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Reddish brown pour. Masks the high abv very well. Tastes almost like a double IPA. Rated 2/11/03

19th April 2008 Silky smooth but low carbonation. Hops dominate but the bitterness doesn’t. I find it to hoppy for a barleywine but very decent though.

Bottle at LCRBM 5 at Kulminator, Antwerp 2009. Haze on an orange gold beer. Aroma of citurs orange fruits. Barrel ageing. Some soft wood. Sweetish. But quite interesting.

2005 bottle, from back before AB stepped in..enjoyed in September of 2009. Thick orange-brown color, patchy head. The aroma has deepened, displaying some cognac-bourbon smokiness. The mouthfeel has mellowed in quite an enjoyable way, smoothing is out some. The hops have almost been stained by a syrupy malt, but still shine through quite solidly. Sugary sweet with a raisin and dark fruit edge. Suprisingly light on the palate, pretty excellent.

LCRBM 2009. Light brown in the glass, small head. Aroma of chocolate and cinnamon. Starts modest sourish, gets stronger and stronger, very complex, a bit alcoholic, but also very fine spicy, again notes of cinnamon. Well balanced finish. A great beer!

12oz bottle from Rodman’s. Pours a transparent orange with a thin, fast fading white head. Low carbonation level. Aroma is sticky hops, sticky fruits, sticky caramel sugars. Flavor has more sticky fruits, apples, oranges, pears, grass, booze, rum. Medium mouthfeel, 11.4% hides well. Doubt this needs much aging, it’s ready to drink now.
