Dominion Millennium is a very strong ale brewed in the English Barley Wine style. Often called the "sherry of the beer world", barley wine is best sipped at warmer temperatures, and should be enjoyed in moderation, as it contains twice the alcohol of regular beers.

Bottle. Amber beer with a light tan head. Rich malt, honey, and nut aroma with toffee and dried fruit. Rich malt flavor with honey and light dried fruit and a bit of summer fruit. Alcohol noticeable. Medium-plus bodied. Malt and light nutty malts linger with light toffee, light fruitiness, and light honey. Nice sipping beer.

Bottle from Captain Cougar. Thanks Tom! Rich reddish copper color with little head. Vinous aromas with lots of fruit and florality. Medium plus body with lots of fizz. Heat is noticeable. There are tropical fruit notes. Lots of caramel. Fruity hops pop up towards the finish. Something like a dry, heavy sherry. The fruitiness is a nice touch. Very enjoyable.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Gilly's March '09
Aroma: Alcohol, Hoppy, Pine, Sweet
Appearance: Cloudy amber color, decently full off-white head
Flavor: Bitterness mixed with sweet, strong alcohol taste that is typical of a barley wine
Palate: Light boddied, not a bad finish, but diminishing
Overall Impression: Solid barley wine style, drinks nicely, not a total standout, but a solid representation of the style and brewer.

2008-09-06, draught at Old Dominion Brewhouse, Washington, 6-3-7-4-14=34
It’s served in a completely wrong glass; hazy amber color. It has some malt aroma. Good body, good caramel flavor, with correct sweetness, good bitterness level, some alcohol feeling.
Powerful but not exciting, it doesn’t keep up with the bottled version.

Beautiful red-amber color. Buttery malt aroma. Strong mouthfeel, rich malt flavor, very sweet, with sweet caramel, fudge, cookies, sweet chocolate; warming, with a touch of aged rum; a good hopping provides the necessary balance. The flavor is a bit more on the sweet side; the palate a bit more bitter, with strong toffee character. Excellent.
Comparison to the oak aged version. This one has a stronger character and is more warming, both the aroma and flavor are maltier, resulting in a stronger body too, and the final is more bitter; in other words, it’s more complex. This beer can stand a longer cellaring. A solid beer to be fully enjoyed, whenever there is a chance.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of nicolascage. Hazy, amber golden with an off-white head that leaves some lacework. Extremely dry whiskey aroma. Medium in body with a strangely limited malt base and again these very distinct notes of whiskey. Somehow the body isnβt huge enough to contain all the alcohol hence the beer appears somewhat inharmonious. But not unpleasant in any way. 201107

040407 Bottle (hey bockyhorsey!). Pours brown with an orange tint, almost looks a little viscous. Sweet malty aroma, honey, brown sugar, with a bit of spice. Taste is more of that sweetness punctuated with a fairly strong hoppiness. Probably about average for a barleywine, but should be an enjoyable drink.
Enjoying a 2009 bottle in 2013, and while it is significantly oxidized in the nose, there is still plenty of hops, a good amount of brown sugar and toffee malts, and a lot of heat. Solid still
