Smooth like a lager. Crisp like an ale. The Cream Ale was one of the first beer styles created in America, and ours has been the style standard since Genesee first brewed it in 1960. Genesee Cream Ale has won numerous awards throughout the years and remains just as smooth and flavorful as it’s always been. It’s a true American original.

Ah, good old American beer. Poured a light golden color. A thick white head that dissipated quickly. Smell was sweet, as of corn. Body was smooth and perhaps even creamy. I got a bit of buttery flavor in there along with malt and corn. Very drinkable and quite affordable. I would drink this again. (Good thing, too - I bought a 12-pack.) Update: I just tried a "craft beer" from another American brewery, and the stuff exploded out of the bottle and tasted like garbage. I had wanted it to be my last beer of the evening, but I couldn’t end the night like that. Thank goodness I had a Genny in the fridge. I’m getting some honey in the flavor today. This is a fine beer. Some say our grandfathers had poor palettes; I say, perhaps they simply knew what they liked.

Overall Impression: Smooth tasty beer that is always really great for the price, I would definitely say this one is underrated on here, I rarely find beers I can get 6 packs of for under $6 that I like better.

Hey! This is this beer’s 400th rating! Congratulations... or something. 12 ounce bottle from Total Wine Richmond, Va. Pours a golden color with a thin head, nice lacing but no retention. Pretty generic grainy aroma. Taste starts sweet with a corniness that grows in intensity and with a grassy finish. Medium bodied.
