A very dark to black color, with roast malt & chocolate caramel flavor- this was a traditional English Porter, until we started spiking our casks with vanilla beans- and the crowd went wild! So, Vanilla Porter it is! The malty sweetness is in harmony with a sharp bitterness of black malt and the vanilla.

Draft at the source. Dark amber-brown, no head. Chocolate, lots of vanilla. Very sweet finish.

On tap at SunUp, pours black with a tiny beige head. Aroma brings out lots of vanilla upfront, followed by light toasted malt. Flavour incorporates the vanilla well with the toasted malt. A vanilla bomb without being overwhelming. Nicely done.

Poured up on tap at Sun Up with black velvety light trapping darkness and mocha head. The aroma has a nice tasty smelling dark roasted maltiness, earthy chocolate notes, sweet vanilla and a touch of chili pepper like heat. The taste has nice rich notes of dark roasted malts, chewy sweet vanilla, winter flavored hard candy treats, a bit of coffee and chocolate malts. Nice robust full flavored Porter. I dig Sun Up’s roastier brews.

on tap-pours a light brown head that laces and black color. Aroma is vanilla/chocolate/roasty-dark malt. Taste is sweet vanilla/chocolate/roasty-dark malt, secondary earthy hops. Some ashy at finish.

enjoyed during 2011 RBWG on tap pours black wtih a thin tan head. Aroma is strong earthen hops and vanilla. Flavor is sweet vanilla, light roast and cocoa.

Appearance: Dark brown with a nice sized beige head and good lacing
Aroma: Roasted malts and vanilla
Taste: Smooth mouthfeel of vanilla, chocolate and dark malts
A nice easy drinking porter.

Tap. Dark brownish maroon. Massive amounts of vanilla in the aroma and the taste, with a decent amount of roasted and chocolate malts. Subtle hops, if any. My favorite of the day.
