A low tan head on a near black body. Nose leads with roasted coffee, roasted malt and some chocolate. A clean and balance IS. Just nothing out of the ordinary. Roasted coffee, some dark fruit, caramel and chocolate work together to a clean finish. body is not overly dense or rich for an imperial.

Great sweet malt, roasted malt, and chocolate aroma. The flavor and mouthfeel are super smooth and loaded with toasty and chocolate notes. Medium bitter finish with some coffee, great stout!

8.1 %. A deep dark stout with a very thin light brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate and caramel malt with light molasses, licorice, alcohol warmth, and fusel alcohol. In mouth, a sweet fruity caramel malt with light coffee notes, light licorice, alcohol warmth, very nice and smooth. On tap at EtOH.

Mix 6-pack from Depanneur Unique. A deep black pour with a thick creamy tan head. A fruity cocoa aroma with plum notes. A soft round mouthfeel and a smooth body with tons of roast cocoa & coffee is spiky delicious.

Location: Bottle at Paul’s Blind Impy Stout Tasting, 1/5/13
Aroma: The nose has roasted malts, chocolate, and some earthy notes
Appearance: This one pours a dark brown color with a tan head that leaves some sticky lace
Flavor: The taste is roasted and chocolatey with some earthy and chocolatey bitterness too
Palate: The body is medium-full, it’s a little chewy, and drinks kind of creamy
Overall Impression: Ovwerall, I thought this was a pretty solid one with a nice feel, some good components, and a nice balancing bitterness. Good stuff.

Decent. Smells like booze, roast malt and licorice. Some serious smoke in the aroma as well. Pours black with an initial mocha head. Taste is a little sweet and a little bitter. Some sourness as well. The after sours a bit after 10 seconds or so. Not bad. Bottle from Delires du Terroir.

Bouteille 341ml.

Aroma: Black chocolate with a bit of sugar + bitter coffee beans. Typical stout nose. Appearance: Black and opaque. Small head, disappearing fast but sticking and leaving a bit of lacing. Taste: Attack is all coffee supported by full body and oily texture. Notes of sweet chocolate are also showing up and combined with high alcohol are also giving a warm and comforting drinking feel. Finish is all chocolate and bitterness is lifting up all other notes. Coffee and chocolate are very well balanced. Une bonne stout amère, corsée et réconfortante. Très acceptable.

341mL bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks Dany), pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma of chocolate covered espresso beans, toasted nuts and lightly roasted malt. Flavour is quite metallic at first, with notes of peat / smoke coming in later. The chocolate notes are absent, as well as any hint of sweetness. Some bitter espresso notes (like it's gone bad) as well. Not quite offensive, but not pleasant either. The nose is much nicer than the taste.
