Exploding with hop flavor and aroma, this citrus/piney/floral ale has enough of a malt backbone to stand up to the intense bitterness.

On tap at the STL airport. Pours a clear golden amber with a near white head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has a good amount of bitter citrus and pine with a sweet grain backbone. Flavor has lots of citrus with a touch of resin and a light grain backbone.

Floral nose, marigolds. Clear amber, medium head, good lacing. Flavor is of lillies although it is doughy on the back. Alcohol is noticeable. This is a floral IPA on the upper limit of alcohol content, not quite an IIPA, but not terribly quaffable either. Good choice for an immediate dose of hops.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Hoboken Vine, 3/13/14
Aroma: The aroma is floral and pine hops, some citrus/grapefruit notes, and some malty notes
Appearance: It pours a hazy orange color with a small off-white head and pretty good lace
Flavor: It has crisp, floral hops, with some pine and grapefruit notes, light sweet, medium bitter
Palate: The body is light-medium, it has a crisp, clean feel, and a dry, lengthy finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was pretty solid, but not quite as good as I had wanted it to be. Still, this is a very good IPA, and a very good beer.

Received in trade from bluewolf17, thanks for the opportunity! Pours a crystal clear Medium golden color with a huge bubbly white head that persists forever. Smells of pine and resin with a hint of garlic and a modest caramel bready malt to back it up. Light earth and a touch of alcohol round out the nose. The flavor is sweet with bready caramel and a solid shot of ethanol. Bitter pine and resin dominate the flavor with a long lingering garlic and ethanol bitterness finishing us off. Medium body with a light to moderate level of carbonation and a sweet resinous mouthfeel. Nice IPA but maybe the flavors are a bit harsh and clashing just a little bit.

On tap at Pazzo’s poured into a glass. Pours clear deep golden with small white head. Little lacing, light/medium body, and light floral hop aroma. Taste is light caramel malt, wonderful grapefruit, light floral hops, and light finish. Same session as two-hearted ale and Alpha King and this beer’s grapefruit taste still shines.

bottle - Hazy orange pour with a fading off-white head. The aroma is of citrus hops, especially grapefruit. It tastes of citrus with high hops bitterness that lingers pleasantly. This is a good, medium bodied IPA.

12oz bottle from Pick’s poured into a shaker. Pours a nice golden orange with a good amount of white head. Aroma of citrus and pine with a little sweet caramel malt. Taste is about the same with the caramel really coming through. Medium bitter and lightly sweet. Medium bodied with lively carbonation and a long bitter finish. Overall, very good. I wish I could get it year round but, alas, I’ll have to settle for the Dry Hopped APA instead.
