Draft. A dark black with a smallish head. Tastes like beer with syrup added, and not good beer at that. Blue Point might be the most overrated brewery in the universe.

This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a thin messy lacing running all around the glass. Moderate light filmy lacing glosses all about.
The smell starts off with a sly roasty chocolate and then leads to a slight sticky sweet to sour cherry. Subtle sticky tart. Some roastiness.
The flavor leans towards a nice balance between the sour, the sweet and the roastiness. Pulls the chocolate sweetness more than adequately.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body. Sour-ness is super tame. So....some stickiness ends up coming across in the feel, but acceptable at least to me.
Overall, as an Imperial stout this one works. The so-called \"sour cherry\" may just end up leaning towards the \"sweeter side.\" Did I have this too late? Hmmmm...wishing they would have put on dates on the bottle.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with beige head. Aroma is roasted malt and chocolate with faint fruit. Medium mouth with bitter cherry and roast, dark chocolate, decent.

Bottle by Cuso. Aroma strong chocolate, alcohol, rather subtle fruitiness, cherry. Clear very dark colour. Nice brownish head. Cherry fully reveals itself in flavour, along with strong classic chocolatey dark flavours. Light roasted.

Walnut aroma with faint plum. Black, thick tan head. Tree bark, sour plum, some vegetal notes. Medium body. Eh, I don’t like fruited stouts, and this one I particularly didn’t like.

Pours deep mahogany into a snifter. Mocha head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Chocolate and sour funk aromas. Soft with dark chocolate and cherry front to back. Lasting warming finish.

Pours dark brown with light brown head. Aromas of roasted malts and cherries. Tastes like a cherry tootsie pop. Medium to full body with minimal carbonation.

Location: 22 oz bottle from State Line, 7/19/13
Aroma: The nose is chocolate, roast, and fruit, with hints of wood and burnt malts
Appearance: It pours a dark brown-black color with a small beige head and some sheety lace
Flavor: Tastes heavily malty, with lots of roast/chocolate, a little sweetness, and light tartness
Palate: The body is full, it has a smooth feel, a bit creamy, and a fairly lengthy finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a pretty solid one. Everything is good here, but it doesn't quite reach the standout level. Still though, it is quite good.
