Rice helps this beer ferment dry to better showcase the five different hops we use. We then dry hop with generous amounts of Chinook and Citra to create a nose that hints at tangerine, mango, papaya and pine.

750 mL bottle from Ye Old Spirit Shop in Frederick, MD. Pours a hazy dark straw yellow with a medium frothy white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of rice, citrus and floral hops, caramel. The taste is big citrus hops with a resinous finish and a bit of a tropical note. Fairly strong rice notes with some nuttiness. Medium bodied. Strong lingering bitterness. Nice beer.

Rich deep brown coloured body with a dense tan head. Aroma of potent hops, alcohol, malt (not really rice in my nose) and a heavy dose of piney, floral notes. Medium-bodied; Deep pungent malt bitterness with a good set of hops and a large spicey character that blends well with the potency. Aftertaste shows a good hop bitterness, some oak and drying notes and a bunch of alcohol warmth. Overall, a good beer - definitely a good beer to sample if you can get it! I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Liquor Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 11-July-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 27-November-2010.

Location: 750 ml bottle from Buy Rite - Jersey City, 10/24/10
Aroma: Its pretty aromatic, fruity, sweet, a bit resiny, pine, and some floral notes as well
Appearance: It pours a clearish golden-orange color with a small, frothy white head and a bit of lace
Flavor: The taste is both malty and fruity, some crackers, sweetness, grass, and medium bitterness
Palate: This one has a somewhat sticky and oily feel to it, clean enough, and medium-full bodied
Overall Impression: I'm drinking a beer that "celebrates" North Jersey while sitting in North Jersey. I'm sure this beer was better a little fresher, but I found it to be pretty good even at this point. One of the better beers I've tried from NJ, that is for sure. Enjoyable stuff.

750ml bottle at the DC Local tasting. Pours a transparent, yellow gold with a creamy, thin head. Big C hop aroma, centennial hops, pine, lemons, citrus fruits. Flavor is bitter but with a clean sweetness, pine, lemons, pine tar, spicy. The rice adds a clean sweetness. Full bodied but smooth with a lasting hop bitterness.

bottle pours dark gold with a medium white head. Strong pine aroma. Very well balanced double ipa with just enough biscuit and rice flavors to balance the pine and herbal hop notes that dry out the finish.
