Oatmeal stout that’s rich, smooth and malty. This stout has a nice robust flavor with slight hints of chocolate

Tap at Pratt Street - a nice stout with a good balance of sweet flavors up front (chocolate, light fruity/ester tones, caramel), followed by dry flavors that linger on the palate through the finish (mineral, roast/coffee, moderate bitterness, a woody note) - another nice session from these guys.

Sampled at the NoVa Summer Beer Fest in Leesburg, VA on 6/25/11. Cask. Pours a clear dark ruby color with a frothy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, smoke, milky and nutty notes. The taste is roasted malts, oatmeal, smoke and a bitter hop finish. Medium bodied. Nice beer.

Draft. Very rich, thick black color. Chocolate milk tones in the aroma. Thick, steady beige head. This is a great Stout. Roasty, deep chocolate tones. Excellent through and through. Creamy body, mild natural CO2. Awesome.

Tap at Max’s in Baltimore. Black with a thick creamy head and delicate lacing. Aroma of wood/pine and cocoa. Flavor begins with sweet chocolate and progresses to a woody, smoky, bitter finish. Interesting.

Sampled on tap at Max’s in Baltimore. Pours a slightly watery, opaque black with a creamy slightly tan head. Aroma has toast, nuts, brown sugar, bread. Flavor is nice but nothing spectacular, sweet sugars, roasted malts, toasted breads. Silky finish, sweet. I can’t say anything bad, but I can’t say this stood out either.

Location: Nitro draft (on the menu as "smooth pour") at the Pratt Street Ale House, 9/6/09
Aroma: Malty and sweet nose, chocolate, oatmeal, roasted malts
Appearance: Black color with a creamy brown head and covering lace
Flavor: Mostly malty, nice flavorful stout, roasted and sweet flavors
Palate: Smooth and creamy, medium in body
Overall Impression: This is a pretty nice beer. I think it works pretty well on the nitro pour, and while it isn't a great beer it is certainly an enjoyable beer.
