Bottle pour into tulip glass from Leary’s Fine Wines, Newburyport, MA. Aroma is bread dough with caramel and mild pineapple. Appearance is hazy gold with nice sparkle, finger-width foamy white head with fair retention and nice lacing. Taste is mild sweet caramel malt, citrus and mild bitter finish. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin, dry texture you can feel at the back teeth. Overall, fairly mild all around. Not bad, just not very bold.

Tap at Munich Tap House, 25th November 15. Pours clean and clear, light coloured. Aroma is fresh, not too much going on though. Taste is refreshing, clean, some hops, not enough maybe. Fairly standard but reasonable pale

Bright brassy gold with a small fluffy beige head. Toasted malt nose has a slight grainy note. Flavor has a sweet honey character that is balanced nicely by the spruce like bitter hops. Slightly oily texture. Spicy bittersweet hop finish has a touch of vanilla bean.

Pours a transparent amber, almost like a dark apple juice, from a bottle. Quickly dissipating head with large bubbles. Aroma starts with a touch of grass, then settles into the classic piney hops. Flavor is a little bland, somewhat bitter, a little malt but not much, but a well-balanced beer and a good representative of pale ales.

Reviewed from notes.
I’ve had this on tap more than enough times when I go back to visit my family in PA.
Into a pint glass every time. Remember its just an APA, no need to over do things, folks.
The appearance is a nice light golden yellow to almost orange color with a decent level half fingered white foamy head that ends up leaving some light stringy lacing sticking finely to the sides of the glass.
The smell had nice citrus based hops invading my nose with a decent maltiness backing that up.
The taste was a pure bittersweetness that allocates itself well on my tastebuds and ends up leading into a nice citrus sweet aftertaste. There is a quick dry finish.
On the palate, it sat about a light to medium and was fairly sessionable. The carbonation showed a decent harshness about it.
Overall, I say this was a great APA well worthy of having again and have always loved it with a big bacon cheeseburger.

12oz bottle. A pretty cool, outdated example of an APA. Not a new-school tropical session beer, more classic in its hefty malt bill. Piny, crisp NW hops. Sort of hard to believe this beer is only 5.4%, comes off much bigger. Sort of a dinosaur as I drink it. Oily hop tastes. I don’t know about this one. Bold and well brewed, but no one wants heavy crystal malt in their APA anymore.

Draft in a plastic cup at TD Garden, Boston, MA before a Bruins Game. 5 April, 14 vs. the Philadelphia Flyers. Aroma is honey and floral hop presence.

Malt is sweet biscuit, bread and honey balanced by crisp floral hops. Main base of the brew is grainy. The palate was medium to light bodied with a crisp texture floral after bite. Drying texture. After the first cup I was ready for another. Very easy to session this. Easy drinking and simple.

At a tasting, many thanks, clear deepish yellow colour, aroma of mango with a touch of citrus and a malty hint in the back, flavour of grapefruit and herbs, medium bitterness. Nice and drinkable.

Pours slightly hazed orange-amber with a puffy, off-white head. Scent is orange, caramel malt. Taste is mildly bitter orange peel. Ok...but a bit bland.
