Tröegs Pale Ale is an American style Pale Ale that is aggressively hopped with Northwest Cascades and balanced with Belgian crystal malts to create a hoppy, copper-colored crisp ale. An excellent example of a classic American Pale Ale.

Golden with a frothy white head and a fair ammount of carbonation. Aroma is weak of lemon, grapefruit, grass. Fairly crisp taste, but not a lot of body to it. Grassy, citrusy and very refreshing, but lacks a basic structure.

Thanks go out to slob for sending this one! Medium amber color that supports a huge off white head. Big, juicy malt nose with generous hops. Stays a bit on the sweet side, but it does what it does quite well. I could drink another one.

12 oz bottle-pours a foamy white head, color is clear gold. Aroma is hops, clean hops. Taste is hops, good carbonation. Finish has a little flatness. This detractor became less apparent as I drank through the beer. Good, middle of the class, but a bit disappointing. Bottled on 5/12/05

Re-Rate (new bottle): Light golden colour with a fairly thick dense white head. Smells of floral and aromatic hops are very present along with a subtle maltiness. Medium-to-Light-Bodied; Metallic hoppiness in the taste with a floral overture and a malt background which has its own backbone and is pretty balanced overall. Aftertaste bittering from the hops in a floral sense. A very good American Pale, but I'm not sure if its as really good as a 3.68! I lowered my rankings for Flavour, Palate and Overall after this bottle, and raised my rating for Aroma...thus lowering my score for the beer. Definately worth trying if you are in the area, but there are much better APAs in Virginia (Hop Pocket Ale, New River Pale, Dominion Pale all come to mind). I bought my twelve ounce bottle at Total Wine in Manassas, Virginia. Previous Rating: Light golden colour, smooth hoppy smell. Sweet start, and a hoppy taste and aftertaste. A good overall Pale Ale!
