We’ve been perfecting our craft since 1867 when Jacob Leinenkugel founded the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company. Over 150 years, we’re still proudly brewing our award-winning Leinenkugel’s Original, a classic American Pilsner, just as we did in 1867.

Aromas are adjunct, wet grain and malt. This was my go-to beer in the '80s. A great example when a big brewery buys out a smaller one and ruins the quality for the sake of profit. Now it's a marginally better common adjunct pale world lager. And a beer like this that has some lasting head it's not about quality ingredients but rather foaming agent.

12 ounce bottle. Been a Wisconsin resident for 17 months so about time I tick this. Clear golden, thin white head, fair retention. Aroma of toasted pale malt, grassy hop. Taste is strong grassy hop, pale malt. Medium bodied, crisp, lingering bitterness, high carbonation. Better than expected. I could crush a few of these.

From old tasting notes. Medium gold color. Smooth creamy white head. Tart fruity malt aroma, reminiscent of white grape juice. Zesty sweet malt flavor upfront. Mildly smooth dry finish has a wisp of hop bitterness.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, best before 1/18/2016. Pours crystal clear bright golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings down the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of cracker, corn, white bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of cracker, corn, white bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of cracker, corn, white bread, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish. Good robustness and balance of pale malt and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness. Very clean on lager flavors with minimal yeast ester notes present. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly grainy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.6%. Overall this is a good pale adjunct lager style. All around good robustness and balance of pale malt and light earthy hop flavors; and very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Can (Original Chippewa’s Pride can). Corn and barely malt aroma. Golden yellow with large white head. Mildly sweet barley malt and mildly bitter hay flavor. Nice body. Really not a bad beer - as good as PBR.

I’ve had this more than enough times when I lived in Michigan and I actually don’t see it around here. No worries, here’s my notes.
I’ve had this in a pint glass and a pilsener a way many of times.
The appearance was a nice golden light orange to almost yellow color with a soft one finger white foamy head that dies at a nice pace leaving an adequate stringy light somewhat clingy lacing.
The smell was somewhat malty and left a lot of hoppy bitterness to be desired. Hmmm...ok, well, I do see its an American Pale Lager, so I won’t be too harsh here on it.
The taste was somewhat malty and really didn’t have much else going on.
The palate was about a light to medium and didn’t really have anything else telling me this is anything stellar.
Overall, this is just another American Pale Lager, nothing bad, but still nothing extraordinary. I’ve had it with food before (a fair amount of pizza) over the years and always thought it was good.

Clear gold, with a fluffy white head. Slightly sour grain malt, honey aroma. Taste is mild corn, grain, grass. Watery, bland....but still better than many an American Pale Lager.....

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours clear light gold with white head. Aroma of corn, grains, abd light hops. Taste is very lightly bitter. Medium bodied with a slightly slick texture. Lively carbonation and a decently long finish. Overall not bad. I would drink it again.
