Classic lager brewed with pale malts and cluster hops
We’ve been perfecting our craft since 1867 when Jacob Leinenkugel founded the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company. Over 150 years, we’re still proudly brewing our award-winning Leinenkugel’s Original, a classic American Pilsner, just as we did in 1867.

Bottle at Bishops Arms Järntorget, Göteborg, on April 28, 2012Date on bottle Sep2611, not sure if this is bottled or best before?Slight bit hazy golden color, big lasting fluffy white head. Malty, cream, sweet, bread, grainy scent. Malty, sweet, apple, dry, grainy taste. Apple aftertaste. Moussy and sort of thin mouthfeel, low bitterness.Clean but boring.

12oz can. Filtered watery yellow color with an impressive foamy head. The aroma is stale macro beer factory. Creamy light body, pretty weak carbonation. Slightly less offensive than some other cheap beers, this is still pretty sub-par and unimpressive stuff. There is a semblance of creamy, sweet lager tones, but they are awash in dirty, grainy, cheap ingredients. Easily sessioned, preferable to a lot of other BMC stuff I suppose.

This was actually a sought after beer when I was in college in the Midwest in the 80s. Of course, we usually drank PBR or Red White and Blue. This is a notch up from those. Barely.

Pour is a pale yellow with a large white head. Aroma deffinatly has some bready malts with a wee bit o hops. Flavor is pale lager bland with some corn and sweetness. Better than any macro as it does have a body on it. Comparable to Michelob i guess.

Bottle. Pale yellow body. Diminishing white head. Light aroma of grain, corn and herbs. Lightly sweet flavor with a light bitterness in the fnish. Light body and watery texture. Fizzy carbonation. Better than many mass market pale lagers, though only marginally so. It is crisp and clean and goes down easily cold.

Bottle. Aroma of pale malt with some grassy hop. Dark gold color with no head at all. Near medium body with decent carbonation. Flavor is a little grainy, and there is enough grassy hop to make an impression. Finish is about the same, but the hop builds up a little bitter. Not bad.

Twist off cap on a brown 12 oz bottle. Sweet fruity aroma once you get the lid off. Clean olfactory in glass too. Ubiquitous pale yellow amercan lager appearance. Initially the flavor is off sulfur swaying slosh. Each taste has a controlled refined interesting industrial feel, processed, like many lagers. Not as smooth as I expected, it bites when left to develop. Don’t care for the constant medium pestering annoyance that hangs for a while on the finish. Even tho it has a very nice aroma I find Schmidt’s and Old German Premium Lager to be more enjoyable and cheaper.

bottle - Pours clear and fizzy yellow with a medium sized head. It has a light malt aroma and a typical for the style light malt flavor with a little bit of hops balance that makes it better than a Bud or similar. It’s bubbly, thin, and overall... meh.
