A black ale made to commemorate the coming of long nights and short days. This dark ale, with light chocolate undertones, was brewed with roasted black barleys and dark crystal malts to create a dark color while keeping the lightness of an ale. Nugget and Willamette hops were used, adding a balanced and full flavor. Enjoy this beer while waiting for the dark and damp winter to pass.

On draught at the brewery tap in Portland. Best of the night, three person tasting session. Dark maroon with scant white head. Aroma of dark roasted malt and caramel. Rich malt flavor with cafe au lait, slightly bitter chocolate finish. A winner.
