Our Nut Brown Ale starts out very smooth, like an English-style Brown Ale. The use of Chocolate Malt, Munich Malt, and Hallartau Hops give this beer a crisp, nutty finish. Peak Nut Brown is a delectable beer loaded with complex, differentiated flavors that don’t overwhelm the palate, making it a perfect dark beer for food pairing.

No aroma. Light brown, thin yellow head. Tart malt flavor with a peanut hull and dust finish. Not very exciting.

Rich brown coloured body with an almost hazy, creamy appearance. Aroma of alcohol, cream, nuts, earth, caramel and a touch of light clover honey. Medium-bodied; Assertive honey and caramel flavours with a touch of nuts, earth and malt coming through on this. Aftertaste shows a hint of complexity with more nuts and honey than anything else, but a few pit fruit flavours, some more earth and a bit of brown sugar as well. Overall, not such a great beer, but not terrible. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Oliver’s in Albany, New York on 18-November-2011 for US$2.55 sampled at home in Upstate New York on 26-November-2011.

12 oz bottle. Hazy amber brown with full creamy off white head. Sweet nutty aroma with an almost fruitiness as well. Taste is the same as nose with a bit of sugar. Lighter in body with a thin mouthfeel. Not a bad brown but for sure a little below average for this style. Good brown for the warm summer months.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a clear amber with a creamy off-white head leaving a discreet lacework. Nose is a little nutty. Light body, a little sweet caramel and nuts with some strange tangs, soapy. A little roast in the finish. But not really convincing. 050411

Bottled. An amber beer with a lazing orangey head. The aroma has notes of malt, straw, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of metal, malt, and caramel, leading to a dry metallic finish.

Bottle from Half Time. Pours ruddy amber with a slight yellowish head. Nice nutty aroma. Med body. Flavor seems chocolate, shifting to nutty, ending lightly bitter. Not a lot of impact, likely short on ingredients, but there is a nice nutty flavor in the end. Likely sessionable.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market, Fairfax, VA. Pours a clear dark reddish amber with a medium creamy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel, leafy hops, dough and a faint nutty note. The taste is nutty, grainy malts with a faintly bitter leafy hop finish. Medium bodied and overcarbonated.
