12 oz bottle poured. Pours a thick looking black with a tan cream foam head. Nice toasty malt aroma and flavor. Nice hop character throughout. Roasted caramel finish that lingers. Overall a tasty beer.

Bottle shared with Erwin Van Moll and Stefan @ Van Moll Brewpub. Nice dark red-brown color with a nice dark red glare coming through. Nice color, but not black as I expected. Small to average sized beige head. Aroma is lightly malts, oxidation, a hint of cocoa, a hint of leaves. Taste malts, lightly hops, leaves, lightly bitter. Decent body and carbonation.

Bottle - Roast malts and some cocoa with some toffee sweetness. Deep mahogany with a rich beige head. Roasted malts, bitter hops and a decent malty bitter, ashtray finish. Interesting and more on the malt side than the hops.

12 oz bottle from De Bierkoning, very reasonably priced. No indication what the age is. Clear, very dark brown color. Rocky off white to light beige head. Aroma’s: Roast, toasted, bit ground coffee. Same thing retronasal, with some light sweetness and fruit added. Flavor is moderate sweet, strong roasted, moderate bitter. Medium bodied. Finishes dry, heavily roasted, almost ashy, moderate bitter. Nice, ehm, porter.

Opaque black pour with a tall tan head. Roast malt aroma. Sweet and nutty. Lightly sweet flavor, nutty roast malts that were mirrored from the aroma. Not much hop aroma or flavor makes this black IPA lean towards the stout side.

Coffee and raisn nose, not strong. Mahogany, thick tan head, good lacing. Medium body. Smoky charred oak, raisin accent, parsley, grass. Very slightly vegetal in a not so good way. Solid, but like so many IDAs, it comes across more like an hoppy porter.

Bottled. A red-brown beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, caramel, and hops, leading to a bitter finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.
