Een ode aan de oersmaak van pils. Dat is Brand Up, of Urtyp Pilsener. De krachtige hopsensatie, speciaal met Saazerhop uit Tsjechië, begint achter op de tong, waarna de lange, frisse nasmaak je hele mond verlicht. Dit bier komt het dichtst bij het oorspronkelijke pilsrecept uit 1842, ja ook toen wisten ze ’t goeie leven al goed te vieren.

Bottle: Golden, mid-sized stable creamy head; sweetish-malty - maybe corny - nose with a mineralic touch, distinctive herbal-hoppy background; light bodied, moderate sweetish-bitter flavour, light malty base detectable; lingering sweet-malty and citrousy-hoppy finish. Astonishingly pleasant and well-rounded Pilsener with a light Bohemian touch. So far the best Pilsener from the Low Countries - besides Christoffel - I’ve ever tasted...........

Bottle, pours light clear gold with a thin white head. Smells lightly grassy with a sour/skunkiness. Taste is very clean almost water like until the finish which is suprisingly pretty bitter. Not bad. Mouth is crisp with a high carbonation.

Pours with a firm, tight head. Straw blond colour. Fresh and clean at first, then a little sweetness develops on the tongue followed by a nice dry, bitter aftertaste.

From tap as Brand Up. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is mild hoppy with a ligt citrusy note showing through. Mild malty base flavour with a mild caramel malt note and light bitterness showing through. Mild fruity into the far finish.

Bottle. Golden beer with a light head. The aroma is yeasty and chemically dry, and the flavour is very plainly dry. Overall an average pilsner.

On tap @ Arendsnest. The brewer changed the name to UP again. They also changed the recipe a bit. Nice golden colour, fluffy white head. Aroma of grass, hops and soft malts. Taste is hops, grass, some citrus and malts. Starts a bit sweet, finishes dry and bitter. Soft palate. Imo the best Dutch pilsener.

Bottle 30cl. @ home.Clear medium yellow color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, dry hay, hay, moderate hoppy, grass. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a average duration, and a dry finish. Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. Bottled. Yellowish golden colour, mediumsized white creamy head. Aroma is grass, hops, some lemon and spices. Flavour is sweet fruity hops along with lots of grass. Long grasy and bitter aftertaste. Wellbalanced and actually a very nice pilsener.

Bottle. Creamy white fiar mostly lasting head. Pale yellow colour. Light malty moderate hoppy aroma .Strange pepper (cayenne?) notes. Moderate bitter flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate.
