This variation was originally created for the popular 3-day Speedway Grand Prix event in our Tasting Room and features coconut added multiple times during the brewing process, Madagascar vanilla beans, and locally roasted Hawaiian coffee. This beer balances the intense rich, fruity flavors of the vanilla and coconut with the roast of the coffee and the chocolate and caramel flavors of our imperial stout.

Taster showing pitch black with no head.

The nose shows intense notes of burnt coffee with light vanilla.

The palate is well carbonated and light bodied. Coffee forward with a light coconut background and a mild bitterness.

Tap at Hopa. Jet black pour, beige head. Nose is big coffee, lightly acidic and chocolatey, huge coconut kick, light earthy notes and dark chocolate. Taste is big sweet booze and molasses, spicy, acidic coffee and coconut, some chocolate again. Closes with long lasting bittersweet finish, showing coffee, chocolate and booze. Big fat body, smooth carbo.

From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Aroma is roasted malt, big creamy coffee, mocha, raisins, lots of chocolate and coconut. Flavour is nicely bittersweet, massive flavour. Body is full and creamy. I liked this even better than the regular Speedway Stout, approaching Imperial Stout heaven for me.

Tap at Orange & Brew. Kind of a creamyblack color. Gentle but zesty malt and coffee nose. But from the first sip there's a hit of vanilla and coconut. Kona style coffee barely stands a chance. Alcohol settles nicely to emphasize the adjunct taste. Big beer with some great side acts. Stickiness on the lips lingers afterwards.
