Aromas are a little on the mild side with dark malt, toast, and hints of coffee, caramel. Flavors are similar to nose, with an easy bittersweetness. A bit of metallic in there. Very smooth and balanced overall. This might be my favorite of all the Speedways.

Can, shared by Max. Pours black. Coffee, roast, coconut, vanilla, lots of earthy coffee, not too sweet. Nice oily body. Good.

Found an older rate, 1/6/18 On tap at Bierwax in BK. 7oz tulip pour. Oatmeal head on coal. Fragrant, lux, macerated coconut & sweet, second note of oily coffee. Bubbles suffocating under the lush, creamy mouthfeel. Marzipan, Almond Joy, lactose (?), sharp coffee concentrate. Big & boozy. Biggest plus for me is that the coconut tastes authentic. Plus, the body screams chocolate milk. Coffee is more then solid, but not exceptional. Big beers aren't my style, but this is addictive on a cold winter night. On tap, Strangeways Dallas; baby goblet, 4.3 rate, 8/15/23. Dusty black pour with some brown trim, oatmeal lace. Coconut oil, browned butter, slightly charred malt nose. Rich charred caramel, sharp & fruity coffee, buttery biscuit, RC Cola & sweet coconut chocolate, caramel burps. It all speaks very obviously, but nothing is flagrant aside from the acid. Thin, acidic, a little oily, sizzling carbonation, hot feels but still has decent quaffability. Yum.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver, canned 11/04/22, ~8 months ago
Aggressive pour, hence the large, brown head, over a black body. Mild aroma of coffee. As usual, it's a very smooth beer, with enough body, but not as thick as the current trend, as well as the sweetness is very mild; notes of toasted bread, and coffee; toasted nut, but it's unclear if it's coconut; and then a light velvety note that can be the vanilla.
Very different from modern pastry stouts, less gimmicky, more elegant.

Poured from 473mL can (canned 11/04/22). Near black with small beige head. Coffee forward (light and floral bean with a hint of vanilla), feint chocolate and caramel notes in the background, enjoyable.

16oz can pours a dark cola black with a huge cap of caramel head. Nose has raisinette and chocolate covered espresso beans, coconut, caramel, a little roasted almonds. Flavors of chocolate and coffee bean, mocha, dried dark fruit, caramel. Full bodied, a little hot, a little astringent, mostly dry. Not overly sweet.
