Clear dark copper, tall tan head. Aromo of sour mash, pepper, yeast. Taste is fresh, fruity, malty and dry. Caramel, citrus, malt.

Barwa brąz, jak lekko chrzczona cola. Piana gęsta, lekko beżowa, drobnopęcherzykowa, ładnie oblepia szkło nawet niczym korzuch. W aromacie nuty ciemnego pieczywa. W smaku czekolada deserowa, lekkie nuty kawowe. Mało slodyczy. Przyjemna goryczka. Bardzo dobre, szybko znika.

Bottle from local Home Bargains store – drank at home. Pours a dark burgundy with a sizeable cream head. The aroma has bread rolls, malts, biscuits and some chocolate and hints of bubblegum. In the mouth it is sweet and creamy with just a hint of sharpness. Flavour is mainly cocoa and chocolate with some underlying dark fruits, burnt malt and hops. Nice smooth understated carbonation. Chocolate remains in the finish. It’s decent but really a bit too sweet for my liking.

Poured from the tap as part of a taste of Belgium flight @ Brussels airport. Last time I had this was pre-ratebeer. Clear mahogany brown with small off white head. Metallic note prevalent on the nose, mild toasted nut quality, mild caramel malt. Meh.

Geruch malzig, hopfig, leicht fruchtig. Beim Geschmack kommt deutlich der relativ hohe Alkoholgehalt hinzu und Noten von Birne und Quitte arbeiten sich in den Vordergrund. Am stärksten bestimmend ist aber Dunklemalz (allerdings nicht so dominant wie die Farbe und 6,6 % Alk. erwarten lassen würden) und ganz leichte Schokonoten, allerdings ohne röstige Nuancen. Recht spritzig. Gefällt mir insgesamt etwas besser als das recht ähnliche Leffe Blond.
