Legend has it that Old Engine Oil was dedicated to our head brewer’s love of classic cars. But it’s the thick, dark, chocolatey viscosity that reveals the real inspiration behind the name.

Opaque, Pitch-Black Color, Big Thick Tiny Bubble Head, Wet Cream Top, Good Retention, Thin Drip Ring and Spots of Lacing. Aroma Reminds me of Bacon. Wet, Slightly Toasted Sour Note, Bacon, Light Bitter. Same In Aftertaste: Wet, Slightly Toasted Sour Note, Bacon, Light Bitter. Thinner Than It Looks. No Sign Of ABV. Did Not Get Chocolate. Good. Enjoyed It. Recommended...

Smelled of coffee/chocolate. Very dark color. Excellent flavor. First impression is slight sweetness but immediately overtaken by the bitterness. Chocolate after taste. Thick but not too thick. Overall, a good beer.

0.33 l can, thanks to my family for this. Pours jet black with thin, long lasting beige head. Nose is grains, chocolate, moderate coffee and some nuts. In taste there's some chocolate, nuts and grains with a subtle, but detectable hoppy touch at the end. Medium bitterish finish, soft carbo and light, smooth body. An easy-to-drink beer that's full of flavours, good one!

330ml bottle from the LCBO.
black pour with a small beige head. Aroma is very roasy, and smokey with a touch of soy sauce. Flavour is very roasty, and a touch bitter with a very creamy mouthfeel, the soy sauce flavour is still there, but not a prevalent. A very nice beer, kinda like a cross between a porter, and a very roasty oatmeal stout.

Bottle at De Koffer, Groningen. Aroma is roasty, coffee, chocolate, dark malt, hint of liquorice. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a surprisingly good roasty bitter finish. Body is medium. Fairly light on the palate, but aroma and flavour are pretty potent.
