Draft at Uiltje. Pours dark brown / near black with a tan head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, chocolate, molasses, light alcohol and some overripe dark fruit. Flavor is light heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Light full bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle. Black with a tan head that fades rapidly. Aroma of fudge, stewed dark fruits, licorice, some chocolate.A whiff of booze. Low carbonation, getting towards syrupy. Sweet with more chocolate than fruit - but some prunes, blackberries - moderately bitter and a bit peppery at the end. Little bit of coffee-like astringency at the end too. Nice, moody.

schenkt zwart met bruine kraag. aroma van mouten, chocolade, koffie, geroosterde en gebrande mouten. Smaken zijn redelijk zoet, matig bitter, sterk, redelijk fruitig, sterke moutigheid van geroosterde/gebrande mouten. redelijk kruidig pepertje, koffie valt we mee, bitterheid ook. volle body, romig van textuur, lage co2, lage zoetige en licht droge afdronk. Vooral de zachte volle en romige smaak valt als eerste op en blijft goed lang hangen, verder bevat het uitstekende smaken met mooie diepgeroosterde mouten, prima !

Bottle at Craig’s house. Appearance - close to black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - blackcurrant and biscuits. Black cherry. Taste - raisin and more biscuits. Palate - medium bodied with a crunchy texture and a long dry yet sweet finish. Overall - complex and interesting.

Pours thickly. Black with almost no head.Nose shows soft roast, liquorice, sweet bready malt. Enticing.Rich roasty flavours, lots of sweetness too. A little booze.

Bottle at home, 8th February 15. Pours black, no head. Aroma, cocoa, chocolate, hops. Taste is smooth, cocoa powder, chocolate, alcohol. Not too complex. Easy sipper, slightly over carbonated for me. Good porter
