Draft. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, and chocolate, leading to a dry roasted finish.

Keg at 2014 GBBF. Aroma is nice big pone and blackberry hop with just a hint of roast. Opaque black coloured pour with a nice lasting tan head. Flavour is nice blend of nutty, roast and dark choc malts with berry and pine hop. Assertive clean bitterness rounds this one out, with lingering dark roast. Good stuff.

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is dry roasted malt, earthy, mineral. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a rich roasted malt liqourice bitter palate with some grassy hoppy notes in the finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. A real winner from Het Uiltje.

Bottle 330ml. @ home. [ As Het Uiltje Bosuil ].Clear dark black brown color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, moderate to heavy hoppy, grapefruit, wood, grass, light pine - resin. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, wood, chocolate, hoppy. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20140413]

Bottled, thanks Benzai! Dark brown, rich beige head. Chocolaty nose with minty black currant. Mid sweet with near full body and rounded mouthfeel. Fudge, milk chocolate, black currant, citrus and pine. Long bitter finish. Unusually chocolaty and harmonious Black IPA.

zwart ondoorzichtig met schuimige bruine kraag. Wow ! wat een aroma, héérlijk gewoon; zo hoort een BIPA bom te ruiken, citrus, grapefruit en den. smaken zijn matig tot redelijk zoet, matig bitter, normaal qua sterkte, matig fruitig, laurier en koffie. Goede zachte en gladde smaken, waarbij de BIPA kenmerken goed naar voren komen (den, hoppig en laurier), medium body, dun en glad, normale co2, afdronk koppig en kruidig, wederom een smaak/aroma exlosie van ’t Uiltje, heerlijk spult

33cl bottle from MrHangover, Euro Swap 5, thanks! Near black, thick brown head. Roasted malt, citrusy hops in aroma, some grapefruit as well. Flavor has cocoa, lovely coffee notes, chocolate. Really dry, bitter biting finish, coffee lingers. Fresh, lovely black IPA. Good body.

Tap tasted at Nederlands Bierproeffestival on 17/05/2014. The colour is almost black with a nice carbonation white head. Malty roasted, chocolate and coffee in the aroma and also in the taste. The aftertaste is a little dry. Medium body and well balanced carbonation. Next one please!
