Bottle from Beer Hive, Edinburgh [240513]
Caramel brown, clear, bubbly thin white head, some lacing
Aroma of soft sweet toasted malt, light caramel malts
Taste of caramel malts, soft roasted grains, touch of biscuit, bitter hops, dull
Palate - Medium carb - bit over fizzy, thinnish body, light oily texture. Finish as main flavour, some bitterness, little dry, rapid finish
Overall - This didn’t impress me at all, dull and boring

Średni alt, zbyt malo wyrazisty by go lepiej ocenić. Na uwagę zasługuje tylko ładna i mocna piana, która utrzymuje się cały czas podczas degustacji.

Bottle thx to benzai. Dark amber colour with little to no head, but it might be a little bit too cold. Smells malty, simple and okay. Tastes like a regular alt. Nothing really wrong with it, nothing great either. Fine carbo, thin body.

In August 2006 I wrote this on BA: This beer used to be a great example of an Alt Beer. Sadly something has happened (has Warstiener messed with the ingrediants?). I used to buy 5 litre mini barrels of it when I lived in Germany. So when on holiday on the Mosel, I saw it on tap in a bar I happened to be in, I revisited it. It is lighter, appeared weaker and almost tasteless, not the beer I remembered at all, very dissappointed! Of course it may well have been only poor in the bar I was in, so please try it if you see it, and let me know if it was a one off on my part.
