Tap at Kaapse brouwers. Dark Amber with small white head. Fruit yogurt, sour berries, apple, cognac, orange, passion fruit. Very sweet and fruity with some light funk and tart finish. Full bodied. Nice.

Bottle. It’s an almost clear one, golden-orange in color and with an off-white head. The aroma has a tad too much alcohol, with fruityness, peaches mostly, but there’s also a generic fruityness. Caramel and a touch of bourbon. Citrus, generic fruityness, booze, caramel and a touch of vanilla and wood in the flavor. Warming and full-bodied with a pleasant carbonation and a lasting finish. Not much gose-ish going on here, but is’s a nice beer for sure. 140613

Cloudy amber with a small white head. Aroma of malt and dried fruit, with plenty of vanilla and wood. Sweet malty flavour with figs and prunes, and a little tart touch. An excellent tart barley wine, but has nothing to do with a pale yellow, tart, salty wheat beer...

Bottle shared at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Bottled 4/13. Hazy amber. Aroma of cookies, malt, oak, vanilla and sourish fruits. Flavor has malt sweetness, fruity sourness, caramel, cookies, vanilla and a drier finish. Rounded slick mouthfeel. Don’t get much Gose character here, but it’s a nicely balanced sweet & sour Barley Wine. Very good!

Bottle thanks to summer secret santa! Pours cloudy hazel, small tan head, disispates quickly, some lacing. Aroma is malty, caramel, green apple, oak. Flavor is quite sweet, light plus bitter, salty, malty, oaky, hot, apple, orange peel. Some light tartness is present as a background note. Medium body, lingering salty bitterness. A bit harsh. Not at all what I am looking for when i open a "gose."

Bottle - Lightly soured malt. Cloudy copper with a decent beige head. Light malty tartness and some barrel notes. Very odd in this category, like a mild Flemish red.

Bottle thanks to Rainer. Pours a cloudy orange with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is caramel, candy sugar, funk, oak. Thin mouthfeel with the tartness from the gose upfront and finishing with candy sugar, oak, booze with the barleywine, really complex and interesting.
