De tweede Collaboration Brew is gebrouwen met brouwer Spike Buckowski van Terrapin in Athens Georgia (USA). Deze Amerikaanse brouwerij staat bekend om zijn hoppige bieren en creatieve limiteds. We hebben gekozen voor een Meibock met roggemout en wat Simcoe hop.

Rake. Keg. Hazy gold beer, thin pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and with a good minerally crispness. Thin sweetish malts. Mild smoke. Ripe orange and ripe bruised generic fruits. Crisp dry finish. Not bad.

33 cl bottle @ home. Amber to orange color, quite cloudy. Big white head with good retention. Aroma’s: grain/malt, caramel, grassy hops. Retronasal it’s grains, malty sweetness, sweet fruits. Flavor is moderate malty sweet, sweet fruits, light bitterness. Medium bodied (there is that nice rye viscosity). Finish is rather dry, caramellish, moderate bitter. Pretty classic German Meibock. Nice!

Draught @ Van Moll Brewpub. Slightly unclear orange color, average sized off-white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, a slight sweetish hint, clearly some hops come through but quite well balanced. Decent body and carbonation.

On tap @ the Paas. thin white head. Cloudy light amber pour. Bittersweet. Ok, i expected something more bitter.

Tap @ Jopenkerk, Lammetjesdag 2015. Hazy orange coloured, with an off white head. Nose is grassy, hoppy, bit of caramel. Flavour is light caramel malts, grassy, not overly hoppy, a bit fruity.

On tap at Jopen Proeflokaal. Hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, spicy, melon. Flavour is sweet, fruity, melon, malts, light spicy, decent bitter finish. Light bodied. Expected a lot more from this. It does taste more true to style than most Dutch examples though.

Tap @ Lammetjesdag 2015 at Jopenkerk, small sample. Clear yellow to golden color, short head. Aroma is a bit grainy, slight grassy hop, hint of pine. Soft bitter taste, bit grainy malt. Bit boring to be honest.
