Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

Sensory Session #57: Left. Nearly black color and a small white head. Nose is acidic, old vinegar to balsamico, very well balance of tart balsamico and roasted malts. Some red fruits and black currant at the palate. Faint licorice finish.

Bottled 11/2014. Dryer than the reserva, even more wood. Base beer complements greatly with the wine, even some calvados. Supercomplex. Yum.

0.33 l bottle from ’The Beer Tree’, 2010 vintage, bottled in November 2014. Clear, very dark ruby with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, tan to light brown head. Sweetish, fruity, a little spicy and slightly boozy aroma of raisins, plums, caramel, cinnamon, marzipan, clove, overripe banana, apples (calvados) and oak. Sweet-malty, slightly sourish-fruity and a little spicy taste of raisins, plums, caramel, overripe banana, chocolate, marzipan, cinnamon, clove, apples (calvados) and some oak, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, sourish, moderately yeasty-spicy and minimally warming finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nicely balanced, very interesting barrel notes, very complex and drinks way too easy. Absolutely delicious!
