This heavy winter warmer unites all the beauty of the Duits & Lauret Stout with a powerful mouthfeel and a warming aftertaste. Due to its fullness and balance, it can be perfectly combined with winter stews and pronounced blue cheese.

Sample glass from a bottle at the 2012 Essen Christmas Beer Festival. Black: with tanned, lasting foam head. Dark chocolate on the nose and taste: burnt coffee comes along as well, with a dry, almost bitter aftertaste. Interesting and different. Bordering on rich, but not creamy: hides the alcohol well and has smoky hints throughout.

Bottle from De Molen. Poured a dark mahogany colour with a thin, long-lasting, off-white head. The aroma is dry roasted malt and dark chocolate. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with lots of liqourice, coffee and roasted malt on the smooth palate. The bitterness disappears rather quickly and this finish is somewhat weak. Very drinkable though and i’d buy this again for sure.

(Bottle, Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 23 Feb 2013) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and dark bread. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, cacao, chocolate, dark bread, hints of ashes and a generous coffee/cacao bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, quite dry. Very tasty and quite well balanced. Very nice winter warmer.

330ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with small to average, creamy, lasting, lacing, tan head. Dark malty aroma with a nuttily touch, hints of almond, toffee, nougat. Taste is minimally to moderately sweet dark malty with hints of nougat, cappuccino, a touch of dark berries; dry hazelnut overtones in the finish; hints of warming alcohol, sticky palate.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Traverse, Utrecht. Dark brown with a big tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate. Tastes and feels almost like an ice-coffee but creamier and smoother. Great smooth aftertaste. Not only for an winterevening!
