Bottle from the source. Dark amber color. Malt, dried fruit, smoke, aceton, band aids and vinous notes in the aroma. Malty sweetish vinous flavor with smoke, band aids and iodine. Not the best possible match, delicately smoked beer with cognac barrels.

Sampled @ Pint Winterbierfestival Gouda, 2016. Lightly hazy reddish color, average sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, smoke, light peat, perhaps slightly cognac but I don’t get it. Pretty crappy actually.

Bottle sampled at Winterbierfestival Gouda. Slight hazy light amber with cream colored head. Roasted goat droppings, hay, wood, light caramel, lots of bitter spices. Light sweet and almost medium bitter. Medium bodied. WTF, this is weird and not very good, I just get a lot of poop from grass-eating animals here.

Thank you for sharing people! Sampled bottled @ “Gouda Winterbier Festival 2016”. Clear amber. Nose is heavy instant glue, chemical, cloying, light smoke. Taste is big glue, fizzy, chemical, light smoke, cloying, more instant glue,… Chemical, fizzy. What happened here? What is this. Nope, just nope.

From bottle at Winterbierfestival Gouda 2016. Clear, dark golden amber. Sweetish-malty, smoky aroma of caramel, nuts and burnt matches. Sweetish-malty, smoky taste of burnt matches, honey, caramel and nuts, followed by a short, slightly bitter, smoky and minimally boozy finish. Medium body, slightly oily mouthfeel, flat. Weird.

Pint Winterbierfestival, Gouda 2016. --- Beer merged from original tick of Winterbier (Cognac) on 15 May 2018 at 14:57 - Score: 6

Bottle sample at PINT Winterbierfestival ’16. Deep amber colour, light-beige head. Aroma of chestnuts, bread, malts, some fingerpaint. Flavour is sweet, malty, nutty, yeasty, hint of peat. Looks totally different from the Bourbon version, and tastes like it missed the cognac barrel. Weird.
