Hazy pale yellow with a medium to large off white head. Hoppy nose with exotic fruits like melon, mandarin, grapefruits and lemons. Flavour came out dry and very hoppy with pine, grapefruits, melon, lemon and lime. Finished dry and bitter. Lovely fresh. High drinkability.

Bottle thanks to DaSilky. Pours amber gold with white head. Nose smacks you in the face with citrus, floral hops and some apple. Taste is extremely hoppy. Nice mildly dry hop finish.

Bottle: Pours a rich golden color with a fat finger of creamy off-white head. Very sweet aroma is hoppy with grapefruit and pine. Some florals. Really sweet and tangy. Sweet and fruity hop taste is citrus, grapefruit, tangerine, and some florals. The intense fruity sweetness really drowns out any strong bitters. Hoppy, drinkable, delicious.

Bottle 22fl.oz.[ Trade by toncatcher ]. Clear medium orange color with many tiny sized body particles, a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, sweet, moderate to light heavy hoppy, citrus - orange, fruity, lime - kiwi, light to moderate yeasty, belgium yeast. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, dry. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Very good balanced beer. [20100416]

Bottle courtesy Gitta og Erik. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Moderate malty and fantastic wonderfull hoppy aroma. Loads of herbal/Grassy/perfumed notes. Heavy bitter great flavor. Long intense finish. Fantastic creamy palate. Wrold class.

Bottle, home. A superb DIPA, and an essentially perfect execution of the style. The beer pours a fair medium orange-gold with an okay white head. It looks good enough, but it’s not particularly special in any way. Appearance-wise, this could be any of a number of DIPAs. Then again, who cares about appearance when this beer has it where it counts? The aroma is dominated by an enormous candied grapefruit rind note. Sweet wildflowers and pine needles kick in the rest of the round, full hop presence. It’s hard to describe exactly what differentiates this beer from other DIPAs. The aroma has the same general hop palette, but the notes are simply bigger, fuller and better. It’s like the difference between a great piece of fruit picked right from the tree over something from the supermarket. The flavor is wonderfully dry. There’s a bit more malt presence than Pliny the Elder, but it’s a rather similar beer otherwise. There’s a dry yeast note that makes the feel a bit rough, but I’m just nitpicking. This is a fantastic beer. I only wish that Alpine would distribute it more regularly to Northern California.
