Looks dark brown in the glass, with reddish hints if seen through light. Average sized off-white head, showing good enough persistence and little lacing. The aroma is intensely smoked (mostly woody/ashy with lighter meaty notes), with lighter malty notes of dark bread and caramel. Taste shows more balance between smokiness (as per aroma: mainly woody/ashy with lighter meaty notes, possibly a smoked salmon hint) and maltiness (caramel, dark bread). A subtle fruitiness (red fruits) on the back and a fat/umami feel throughout. Finishes pretty dry and slightly astringent with a subtle fruity reminiscence. Medium bodied with light to medium carbonation; slightess creaminess, goes down quite easy for the abv. Very good, though pretty much just a slightly amped-up version of the marzen.

Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours clear dark copper with big beige head. Aroma of smoke, chocolate, dark dried fruits, ethanol. Tastes slightly sweet with balancing smokiness and bitterness. Medium bodied.

0.5 l bottle at Goblet Beer Store, Zagreb. Shared with pbf_pivica and Sookie. Dark amber, small beige head. Moderate smokey aroma, smoked wood, light smoked ham. Light caramel and bread underneath. Intense smokey flavour, intense toasty, slightly one sided. Savory, medium body. Light grainy profile underneath. Dry finish. Pleasant.

Dark brown colour, frothy head that stays for a while. Nose is smoked sausage. Mouth is less smoked, with dried plum, caramel, leather. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Not too heavy. Easy to drink. Fantastic.

Bottle, shared at Thanksgiving after a delicious meal, songs, guitars, and beer. Dark (of course). Smoked bacon, caramel, malt (both in taste and smell). Smooth, creamy, round, chewy. Very drinkable. Don’t know why I forgot to rate that one the last times I had it.
