3 Fonteinen Oude Kriek is the result of macerating hand-picked whole sour cherries on young lambic for at least four months, in a proportion of one kilogram of fruit per litre of lambic. The kriek lambic is then blended again with more young lambic to obtain a minimum intensity of 35% fruit, and is bottled immediately afterwards. These bottles are then stored in our cellars for at least five months so that the kriek lambic can develop into a beautiful, traditional, and refined Oude Kriek. With a pleasant tartness and organic notes of almond and cinnamon as it warms in the glass, 3 Fonteinen Oude Kriek, will age perfectly but may lose some of the vibrant red colours and forest fruit aromas. This unfiltered and unpasteurised lambic is all-natural with no artificial juices, syrups, or sugars added. Traditional Lambic is living, cultural heritage rooted in the Zenne valley!

Poured from 750mL bottle. Dark brown/purple-ish red with small pink-ish white head. Nice soft balance, round cherry, age compliments it well (good time to open). Enjoyable.

Bottle 37.5cl. Corked and caged, bottled 2 May 2016 (bought 11/16 bbd 10/36) @home poured into a tumbler. Clear pink ruby colour, small fizzy off-white head, shortlasting, light lacing. Rich and thick aroma, sweet and sour cherries, cherry syrup, wood, cinnamon, retronasal funk. Taste sweet and sour, funk, sour cherries, vinegar, woody, nutty notes, cinnamon. Full-bodied, watery to sticky texture, average carbonation, long lasting semi-dry sweet and sour aftertaste, woody and nutty notes, well-balanced, sumptuous, yummy and excellent.

37.5 cl bottle, exactly 5 years after bottling. Nice funk and oak, still a lot of cherries though. But it's getting slightly dusty. This drinks great right now, I wouldn't age it any further.

Pudeldatud 24.10.2016, vintaaž 2016-17. Esmamaitse on kirside ja kaneel?! Muidugi hapu, funk, väike vanilje, happelisus, funk, sidrun. Ausalt öeldes kartsin, et ei ole enam hea. Minu jaoks liiga happeline, aga happelise fännidele võiks see sobida heasti.

Great example of the style. Sour, dry, woody and some bretty funk. Straw. Lots of sour cherries, giving some light sweetness and so much flavour. Plenty of vinegar. Excellent balance, aged wonderfully.

From 0,75l bottle at Sanders place. Bottled 24.10.2016. Reddish color, small white head. Smells of Funk, earthy, grassy, wood. Nice smell. Full body, soft carbonation. Tastes of funk, grassy, marzipan, hints of cherries, wood, bit cheesy. Finishes dry and lightly sour with notes of Funk, marzipan and grassy notes. Very nice one, not very cherry forward. Good stuff
