Our Barrels are stored in the Basement of the brewing barnhouse of the HillDevils located in the Wouwse Plantage, Holland. Every barrel has it's own unique characteristic flavours wich melt with the beer. We Aged the Big Black Boltini (Russian Imperial Stout) in the Heaven Hill Bourbon Whiskey Barrel for a period of 2 Months.

Bottle @ home. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized brown to dark brown colored head that lasts for a short while but leaves good lacing. Aroma is malts, roasted malts, liquor. Taste malts, liquor, dark malts, some roast, brown malts, malt bitter, bitter. Even after a short break it still comes across quite alcoholic so in the end, while it started out ok, I’d say it’s not very balanced and the barrel aging -meaning: the liquor/alcohol- is too dominantly present. Medium to full body, medium carbonation.
