Brewed as a salute to our brothers at Spiteful Brewing, Deal With the Devil is a beer that comes with a price: our souls. After securing a box of foolproof, sought after hops, we came up with a juicy pale ale that’s low in bitterness and huge in tropical flavors. This beer is unfiltered. Sediment may form.

Bottle at the "Dean is a cheap bastard tasting cos he let Rene buy a beer from the shop and then asked to taste it for the tick" tasting. Hazy orange color, medium sized white head. Aroma is lightly malts, a lot of hops, fruit hops. Taste lightly malts, hops, some resin, bitter, pine. Lovely beer. Very nice!

Bottle at the "Dean is a cheap bastard tasting cos he let Rene buy a beer from the shop and then asked to taste it for the tick" tasting. Poured a hazy medium amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is grassy hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a grassy nettle resin hop palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Apparently inspired by Spiteful Brewing in Chicago, this is labelled as a ’double pale ale’ yet more than hoppy enough to qualify as an IPA. Medium thick, stable, yellowish white, beautifully lacing, perfectly equal head over a warm orangey blonde, lightly hazy beer. Very powerful yet gracious hop aroma, impressions of grapefruit peel, sweet tobacco, tonic water, hemp, white grapes, freshly grated ginger, mango, vanilla, orange, aniseed, rosewater, almond, butterscotch, straw, sage, bourbon. Delicate exotic fruit sweetness in onset (pineapple, red berry, papaja, orange), medium carbo, sourish touch for balance, on a soft, bready and caramelly maltiness, vivid yeasty spiciness too, with an extremely powerful and drying, complex, ’green’, resinous, herbal, citrussy hop bitterness unfolding in the back of the mouth, bringing the whole to a perfect balance, without any astringent alcohol. A hop head’s delight, this is absolutely delicious; the hop bitter finish is among the longest I ever experienced - I could swear I still had its hop taste in the back of my mouth when I woke up the next morning. The bottle wasn’t cheap to buy here in Belgium but worth every penny.

Grasig hopfiger, hell würziger Beginn. Weich, milde runde Fruchtigkeit. Mango, Zitrone, vollmundiger Hopfen, die Bitterkeit ist im Hintergrund. Nie alkoholisch, bitter hopfiges Finish. Außerordentlich harmonisch! 10/12/12/13/12/12

07.09.2014, 0,65l bottle @ home:
Nice creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly concentrated foresty, pine needles, leafs, bark, moss, lawn, soil, citrus peel, wet hops, light malts. Taste is consentrated foresty, lots of hops, pine needles, bark, moss, soil, leafs, lawn, citrus peel. Longlasting bitterness, slightly harsh resiny mouthfeel. Nice enough.

BBE 01/01/2015 - Pours reddish orange with a smooth head. Aroma of ripe fruits, caramel, grassy hops, citrus and juicy notes. Taste is malty, caramely and juicy with some ripe fruity notes, grass and citrus. Finish crisp, hoppy and caramely with hints of licorice(!), tropical fruits and grass. Quite juicy and crisp DIPA. Not super fresh, but still pretty good.

65 cl bottle @ tiong, BBE 01.01.2015
Aroma is sweet with tropical fruits and pineapples. Also some grapefruit and caramel. Flavour has somewhat aggressive hops, grapefruit, some caramel and gooseberry bush. Finishes with lingering hops with herbs and grapefruit. Also some gluey tones after some sips. Still, well bodied and balanced DIPA, almost too sweet though.
