Sample at Kurtkeller 011: Crooked Stave-tastic 01 on 05/02/2014. Pours a clear dark brown color with a medium foamy off-white head that diminishes steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark fruit, malt and yeast. Full-bodied with flavors of earthy malt, bourbon, fruity yeast and oak. The finish is malty up front with a dark fruit and oaky bourbon aftertaste. Good beer overall.

375ml bottle shared by Brad. Pretty awesome beer. Soured, intense, more so than the bourbon, but still captures some of that as well. Biting sharp sourness. The bourbon barrel and deep malt flavors are sort of there, but sort of eaten away too. Really cool beer.
