26/2/2019. Can from Crafty Fellas, Leadenhall Market. Amber/bronze coloured beer with a good sized off-white head. Aroma of toffee, sweet malt, fruit, molasses, hint of syrup and butterscotch, spice, berries and alcohol. Medium plus sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Sweet toffee fruity finish. Very much enjoyed this.

Sampled from tap at 'The Shakespeare'. Clear, dark amber with an off-white head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity aroma of molasses, caramel, raisins and orange jam. Quite sweet, malty, gently fruity taste of lots of orange jam, molasses, raisins, caramel, a touch of vanilla and traces of tea leaves, followed by a medium long, gently bitter, minimally resiny finish. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Simple, saturating, but quite tasty, nice one!

Can from the Brewery. A gorgeous mahogany colour. Little smell. Such a warming and delicious sweet flavour. Yum som fan. ---- Re-rated. Same conditions. 4 to 3.5. Undoubtedly good but too sweet

Keg at the Waterloo Tap, 06/06/18. Mid golden pour with a decent off white cap. Nose is sweet malts, caramel, dried fruits, figgy jam, honey, brown sugar melt. Taste comprises liquid fruit cake, toffee fudge, sugars, sweet licks allover, caramel melt, dec ow. Nose sweet malts caramel dried fruits figs dates brown sugar. Taste comprises liquid fruit cake, toffee, sweet malts, caramel fudge, sweet lickings, prunes. Medium plus body, fine carbonation semi drying close laced with gentle light warming booze. Decent enough sipper ... a touch sweet and cloying in places ... one for the winter.

Keg at Waterloo Tap. It pours clear copper withba thick beige head. The aroma is sweet, bready, sticky, toffee, fruit cake, rich, unctuous, toasted brown sugar, spice and candied peel. The taste is dry, bitter, slick oily, wood, varnish, toffee, honeycake, fruit cake, brown bread, spice, raisin, sultana, earthy, chewy, old leather sofa, brett, date, kick of booze on the back-end with a drying finish. Medium - full body and fine, foamy carbonation. Rich, flavoursome, Good depth and balanced. Colour me impressed.
