Wodan is geen barley wine maar een Weizenwein! Een eigen creatie waarbij we onze core range hoppy weizen (Langharig Tuig) verdubbeld hebben. Echt in overdrive.

22 June 2020. At De Zwaan, Maastricht. Shared with the lovely Anke! Pours hazy ochre with a lasting, small, frothy, off-white head. Strong aroma of ripe banana, candied apricot, yellow apple, canned peach, clove, wet pepper, dough, fruit liqueur. Taste has very sweet banana, apple, apricot, ripe white grapes even, resting on doughy & white bready maltiness, touch of sour wheat in the back with a faint bitterness of clove & pepper. Malty, estery finish, soft floral hops pairing with ripe yellow fruit & dough, quite strong 'Pisang'-like alcohol in the throat. Medium to full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Imperial Hefeweizen? Weizen-fueled Wheat Wine? Very potent & full of taste, love it!

Almost clear amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head, slightly yellowish. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a light creamy sweetness. Pleasing piney vibrant dried fruits and peel. Modest spice. Trace of caramel on the smooth finish. Comes together well, a bright and fruity barleywine.

Bottle. Yellow golden pour. Aroma of citric hop, wheat, yeast ester, some banana and orange, smells like a hefeweizen. Taste has banana yeast, orange, yeast ester, lots of wheat and some grassy herbs. Taste is very like a hefeweizen as well, wish they didn't use this banana yeast. Meh.

Really nice wheat wine, with an intense wheat flavour profile. Feels more like an 'imperial hefeweizen' than other wheatwines that I have had, with lots of those characteristic banana ester flavours. Not what I expected but good.

Pale blond colour. Aroma and flavour have a complex mix of sweet banana yeast, floral notes and a rounded but not overpowering sugary sweetness.

Sampled @ Van Moll Fest 2018. Unclear murky yellow color, average sized white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, wheat, very nice fruity hoppy and sweetish sticky hoppy as well. Decent to medium body and quite soft carbonation. 8-2-8-3-15.
