Appearance: clear gold, large white frothy head of medium retention. Aroma: malt, herbs. Taste: light sweet, medium bitter. Malt, a lot of herbal hop, a bit metallic. Lingering hopy ending. Mouth feel: light to medium body, average to lively carbonation. Summary: drinkable enough.

$1.99 500 ml bottle from Lidl - Culpeper, as Premium Quality Czech Lager. Pop the green bottle and immediately smell skunk. Pours golden with a large off-white head. Aroma is skunk, grain, grass. Flavor is brown and green leaf, skunky malt, strange herbs. Long lingering bitterness, envelope glue-like. I think this can be a drain pour and I won't feel bad about it.

Can, 0.50l. Aroma is malty, grassy and citrusy. Pours clear golden color with medium sized creamy off-white head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts medium sweet malty, following is chalky, grassy and astringent with crisp mouthfeel and long lasting bitter aftertaste. Medium body, slick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Pleasant maltiness & revolting bitterness...

Sampled from 0.5 l can from local 'LIDL', best before October 2018. Clear, golden amber with a thin, frothy, almost stable, white head. Slightly sweetish, moderately grassy-spicy and a little skunky aroma of grains and some straw. Slightly sweet, moderately bitter, gently grassy-spicy taste of grains and some straw, followed by a short, moderately bitter, quite grassy-spicy, dry and a bit metallic finish. Thin to medium body, slightly smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Not very good.

The 'writings' don't say that this would be a Pilsener, I would write a pilsenerA instead of lager. The Zatec hop in this beer is credible --- intense bitterness. Nice to see, a rare good beer in a cheap store... It's not peculiarity. There have been no major differences in quality so far. I can't give less points!! --- Az 'írások' nem szólnak arról, hogy ez egy Pilsener lenne- én a dobozra lager helyett pilsnert írnék.... A Zatec-i komló ebben a sörben hihető, (!) intenzív keserűség. Minden pozitívuma megvan, aminek egy jó ivó-pilseninek meg kell lenni.. Küllemre szép, egy ritka jó fogyasztható sör egy élelmiszer-lánc megrendelésére. Nem különlegesség természtesen, de ennél rosszabb sört ne igyunk soha... Eddig nagyobb minőségi eltérések nem voltak érezhetőek. Kár, hogy üvegest már nem kapni. Nem tudok kevesebb pontot adni!

bottle, czech version. clear yellow, smooth offwhite head. aroma is a bit dough, a bit soggy, a bit metallic and old hops but it lingers off. flavor is flowery, bitter metallic hoppy, a bit dough, a bit sawdust. A metallic bitter lager with sweet dough notes too.If they could change the metallic hop bitterness to a more flowery or fruity hop bitterness, this might become a decent beer. Now it's just bitter metal can with some dough flavors added.
