650ml bottle from Mikkeller Webshop Pours black with a very small brownish head and no lace. Aroma has lots of layers of whiskey most prominently, with tones of vanilla, coconut cake, muscovado, dark toffee, a touch of molasses, some light tones of stewed fruit, sweet cold brew, some chocolate - barrel wins over coffee. Flavour is quite sweet overall, dark dried fruit - raisins and prunes - mixed with caramel, vanilla, whiskey, some earthy brewed coffee, cola, more whiskey, finishing semi-sweet with yet more layers of whiskey, charred wood, vanilla, toasty coconut, sweet black coffee, slight chocolate and a little ash. Long whiskey aftertaste. As the beer gets some air, much more earthy coffee makes itself known in the aftertaste. Medium body, a bit light for style as typical for Cycle, with very soft carbonation and light booze heat. Another nice Cycle stout as one expects, maybe the coffee could be punchier but it's a few months old and I haven't had R1 to compare.

Bottle shared at the SRHC meeting. Inky slick black pour. dark malts and chocolate with some coffee as well. flavors were similar, more coffee. Smooth slick feel and just the right bitterness. A little cold campfire trailer. very nice.

Bottle at BD Castlegate. It pours opaque jet black with a small tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, deep.coffee character, toasted coconut, vanilla, coffee cake and oak. The taste is slick, oily, coffee cake, heavy sweet, vanilla frosting, chocolate gateaux, dark fruits, brown sugars, toasted coconut, coffee and wood with a drying finish. Full body and fine, foamy carbonation. Flavourful and moreish. Fun stuff.
