Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Max. Dark brown to black with a tan head. Aroma of malt, licorice, a coffee note, some dark fruits. Sweetish flavor with malt, salty licorice, dark fruits, a roasty note, and a finish with a coffee note, a bitterish note, and an alcoholic hint. Medium-bodied.

Schwarz wie die Nacht, Schwarzbier halt. Sehr grobporiger Schaum. In der Nase deutliche Röstmalze. Im Trunk feiner Cappuccino, im Abgang Bitterschokolade. Feiner Nachhhall - gutes Schwarzbier, sehr ausgewogen und dennoch komplex genug.

Bottle, 5.3%. The aroma is a tad fruity for the style, but not bad. Almost black colour, clear red shine. Big stable creamy tan head. The flavour is nicely roasted, quite powerful. Good roasted finish. Vinous and fruity for the style but flavorful and good.
