Citraweisse is a beer close to our hearts here at Fieldwork; marrying our passions of IPA's, Sours, and Saisons. Starting life as a traditional Berlinerweisse, things begin to change en route to the fermenter as it takes a detour to soak on some Citra hops during its whirlpool rest, then on to the tank where we ferment it with our house Saison yeast and dry hop with copious more amounts of Citra in the dry hop. The end result is an aggressively tart Berliner weisse style beer with massive aromas of orange juice, pineapple, and lemon, hay-like citrusy yeast esters, and an impeccably dry finish.

On tap at Fieldwork. It pours mostly clear bright yellow with a small white head. The aroma is strong with melon, grass and lemon peel. The flavor is tarty, lemony, a little earthy and grassy with light parsley notes. A bit vegetal and "green" from the huge amount of hop material against a light malt backbone. Nice acidity on the palate. Mouthwatering and refreshing lactic finish. Pretty good, but the plant material in the flavor throws it off just a tad.
