On tap at Pacific Coast, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out roasted malt, light hoppiness, not a whole lot else. Flavour is robust, with medium roasted malt, fairly high sweetness, and some caramel. Very sweet and abrasive. Not the most refined impie. Decent.

On tap. Pours with a completely opaque black body. Head is deep brown and long lasting with clingy lacing. Full retention. Aromas are rich, chocolate, some licorice, raisins, dark fruit, fudge, light smoke and vanilla. Flavors of alcohol, tobacco, iodine, smoke, dark fruits, earthy, chocolate (hersheyβs sweet/artificial), fudge (real thankfully). Creamy, smooth, slightly bitter, light carbonation and heat. Body is a bit on the thin side for the style.

On nitro tap at the brewpub pouring up with deep dark body supporting a lasting dark tan head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, malts, some black licorice, burnt malts and chocolate covered malt balls. The taste begins with a pleasing mix of black licorice, burnt malts, some dark chocolate candy bars and dark chocolate covered malt balls. The roasty to burnt malts slowly take over into the finish with lingering hints of black licorice around the edges. This has a yummy level of chocolatiness throughout. Well done!

On tap. Pours dark brown - close to black - with an orange hue and a creamy, nitro-like light brown head. Intense aroma of dried fruit and some hard roasted malt. Quite full-bodied, hard roasted malt and chocolate accents. Malt bitter finish with some alcohol present. Good and not overly burned Impy. 120709
