Tap as part of a sampler at the brewery. It is so hard to find a golden strong these days, but man are they awesome when you find one done well. These guys nails it. Lots of fruit and spicy esters. Floral and fruitiness dominate a great beer.

Wonderfully brewed light colour, strong in everything else kind of beer. Not a single off flavour, full bodied, low bitterness, perfect for the style. Cellarmaker SF.

From tap at the brewery. Unclear yellow golden color with almost no head. Malty and yeasty aroma, caramel, some citrusy fruity notes, banana, spicy. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

Draft at the brewpub. The beer is a medium gold. It’s fairly clear. Medium white head. Big old raisins and Belgian sugar in the aroma. Classic Belgian Strong Pale Ale territory. Sugary dough. It’s all a bit much. Dates, fruit cake, mild spice. Honey. Sweet things. Some body to it. Fairly dry finish for all that sweetness and the mouthfeel is similarly lighter than expected. Not my cup of tea but no off flavors and it’s clearly well made.
