Der Brauprozess des Wiess (Kölsch für Weiß) ist identisch mit dem unseres Kölsch. Es ist ebenfalls obergärig und hat die gleichen Inhaltsstoffe. Die Besonderheit – es wird nicht filtriert. Dadurch ist das Wiess eine Spur vollmundiger als unser Kölsch und unterscheidet sich auch deutlich in Geruch und Geschmack. In die Nase steigen leicht florale Noten gepaart mit einem Hauch Banane. Die feine Süße des Bieres wird umspielt von einer leichten Bittere. Ein echtes Geschmackserlebnis.

Bottled@One Pint Pub, Helsinki. Hazy yellowish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is caramel malty, bready malts, some mild hay and honeyish notes as well. Flavour is much the same along with some fruityness, earth and also quite herbal towards the finish.

Flip-top bottle. Golden hazy color with small white head; mild grainy aroma, with hints of fruit. Taste, citrus, touch of honey, grain. Nice bitter finish. Drinkable.

(Bottle at One Pint Pub, Helsinki) Poured yellow and cloudy. Head was medium sized, bubbly and white. Aroma contained citricness and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied and bit dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were citricness, fresh malts, yeast, frutiness, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity and bitter.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes straw, malt, and a bit of sulphur. The flavor is sweet with notes of hay, malt, and hops, leading to a bitter finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Draught at the brewpub. Cloudy pale yellow, small creamy head. Fruity and lightly salty. Light-medium bodied with soft mouthfeel. Mostly mild and refreshing, just lightly hoppy. Some late spicy bitterness.

Draught @ Hellers Brauhaus, Roonstrasse 33, Köln, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany.Unclear medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, wheat, paper notes, moderate orange - citrus, light yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, salty.
