Bottled. A hazy brown beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt as well as an odd note of damp hay, leading to a dry hay-like finish.

swing top bottle (330ml). -Trade with Allen (thanks Julian!). Slight hazy reddish/brown coloured, medium sized off-white head that went away fast, light roasty nose. Moderate roasted malt, vinous coffee and quite watery with notes of raisins and chocolate. Pity for that lack of body, otherwise good dunkel.

0.33l fliptop bottle courtesy of ogivlado who got it in a trade with Allen (thanks both!) Poured a quite dark amber-red body with a medium sized white head that went away relatively fast. Sweet, slightly sticky & oily nose with raisins, roastiness and coffee. Not bad. The taste is slightly watery and acidic, sporting nice notes of raisins, toffee, chocolate and roasty cofee. More like a dry stout and not bad at all, but could’ve done better with more body.

Thanks to Allen for this one! The bottle looks simple, but good, the beer in the glass not very zippy, small head. Starts very mild, modest malty-roasty, a little bit sweet. Finish shows no new notes, a little bit metallically, still too mild. Not more than average!

Bügelverschlußflasche: Deep ruby-amber coloured, hazy, big beige head, sourish-fruity - presumably - infected nose with caramel and shy hops underneath; light to moderate sourish-sweetish flavour; increasing hoppyness in the fruity-sourish and malty finish. Infected, drinkable, over the top........

(bottle, 33cl, with thanks to Allen!) Hazy, dark and ruby amber colour with a big and slightly beige foamy head. Sweet and slightly toasted malty aroma with yeasty and berry-fruity notes, accompanied by traces of caramel and cacao. Sweet flavour with a shy bitterness, light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slightly toasted malty taste with caramel, chocolate, liquorice and lighter fruity notes, from which the latter remind me rather of the early stages of an infection than complexity; almost dry and moderately toasty finish with delicate hoppy spice and caramel and chocolate in the aftertaste. Still a pleasant one. 31.XII.09
